We are unique

Sweet-Montour Elementary is a Kindergarten through 5th-grade school serving students in combination-grade classrooms where students stay with the same teacher for at least two years. This makes it easier for the teacher to know each student's social, emotional, and academic needs. Each classroom is like a family. Students often support each other’s learning by being mentors to the younger children, and mentees to the older children.  Our classroom grade level combinations are Kindergarten-1st grade, 2nd-3rd grades, and 4th-5th grades. Each classroom is taught by a certified teacher. Paraprofessionals provide support in many areas including PE, Music, Library, and Keyboarding classes.

Technology-driven

Each classroom in Sweet-Montour Elementary School is equipped with a SMARTboard and each student has access to a Chromebook.  Teachers use technology throughout subject areas and involve students in the use of technology in these lessons.  Some of our family nights are centered around STEM learning and technology.
